Early layers

This is a plot of the routes indicated in Hippesley Cox's The Green Roads of England. It is taken from a fairly large-scale map so cannot be taken to be metre-perfect, but it shows to illustrate his thinking applied to just one small area of Britain.

White roads are Margary’s network. Hover over a road or feature to identify the dataset, click on a road or feature for more information.

The layers can be turned on and off with the dialogue box in the top right, the legend is in the bottom right, and the data set can be accessed at the bottom left.
