Codrington's network

Thomas Codrington was the first in the 20th century to produce a catalogue of Roman roads in Britain. The map shows the similarities and differences between his and Margary’s networks. The book can still be bought secondhand (see the Reading page) or downloaded for free (see the Links page).

Purple roads are Codrington, mauve Margary following Codrington, and White Margary. Click on a road to identify it.

The layers can be turned on and off with the dialogue box in the top left.
